Cardiovascular Health in Women

Cardiovascular Health in Women focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of heart and vascular diseases that uniquely affect women. Although cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death among women worldwide, it is often underdiagnosed and undertreated due to differences in symptoms, risk factors, and disease progression compared to men.

This session will explore key risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, smoking, hormonal changes, and genetic predisposition. It will also highlight how life stages—including pregnancy, menopause, and aging—can influence cardiovascular health. Special attention will be given to recognizing atypical symptoms in women, which can lead to delayed diagnosis and treatment.
